Summary: Too many characters! Becca drew a map to help her navigate what was happening, and I think a few of us wished we'd had it while we were reading. This book prompted much discussion of the plight of the poor and forsaken woman at the time depicted. Several of us found the writing exquisite, although it was generally judged to be a heavy-going read.
