Summary: This one divided opinion. We all found it very much a book of its time (the 1970s), while some found this horrendously dated, and others enjoyed its satire of the period. Variously considered to be delightfully witty, and rather leadenly self-conscious. Several of us expressed more enthusiasm for exploring Hoban's children's literature.
